Political Cartoon #4

The political cartoon is about the Panama Canal. The cartoonist message about this topic is that  President Theodore Roosevelt is in the Panama Canal like he is guarding something. An opinion I can see something having is that Roosevelt is going down Panama in a boat and just having a nice ride. Another opinion I can see someone else having is that Roosevelt is going down the Panama Canal with a big stick to go kill/destroy something.
A technique I see the cartoonist use is labeling.  I say this because in the water next to Roosevelt says "Panama".  Also the stick Roosevelt has i  his possession says "The Big Stick". Another technique is Symbolism. I say this because the big stick Roosevelt is holding The term "Big Stick" diplomacy refers to Roosevelt's corollary to the Monroe Doctrine. This cartoon does support my opinion on American imperialism because the way America helped Cuba out, but then tell then you gave to join America was okay.
The term "Big Stick" diplomacy refers to Roosevelt's corollary to the Monroe Doctrine, coined by the famous phrase: "speak softly and carry a big stick"
